A Global Movement is Now in South Jordan: Light The World Giving Machines Arrive in Daybreak

A worldwide holiday tradition has officially arrived in South Jordan.

The Light the World Giving Machines—part of a global movement encouraging simple acts of service—are now in Downtown Daybreak, located near the playground, and will be available through January 3, 2026.

What Are the Giving Machines?

Giving Machines look like vending machines, but instead of buying snacks, you’re buying hope. With a quick tap, visitors can donate real items that directly support people in need, such as:

  • Meals for families
  • Warm clothing
  • Medical supplies
  • Shelter support
  • Educational resources
  • Toys
  • Even livestock like chickens or goats to help communities become self-reliant

Each selection represents something tangible that will be delivered through trusted nonprofit partners. 100% of your donation goes directly to the charity. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sponsors the program and covers all operating costs, ensuring every dollar you give makes an impact.

A Global Effort—Now Right Here at Daybreak

This year, the Light the World initiative is bigger than ever, with Giving Machines in:

  • 126 cities
  • 21 countries
  • 6 continents
  •  Including first-time locations in Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Chile, El Salvador, Italy, Japan, Spain, and Thailand.

Now, South Jordan residents can be part of this growing global movement—right at Daybreak’s Winter Village.

Spread the Joy this Season— Give, Share, and Light the World

Whether you’re ice skating at Winter Village, enjoying Holiday Lights at the Ballpark, or grabbing dinner in Downtown Daybreak, take a moment to visit the Giving Machines and spread some light this Christmas season. ❤️
