2025 at Downtown Daybreak

The Year Utah’s First Sports and Entertainment District Came to Life

Downtown Daybreak
From everyday moments to unforgettable nights, 2025 was the first year of Downtown Daybreak—and it was one for the books. It was a year of grand openings, defined by connection, celebration, and experiences. Ice skating under the lights. Free events for all ages. Meals shared, games played, concerts enjoyed, and nights spent cheering at the ballpark. Downtown Daybreak is more than a destination—it’s where life takes place. Here’s a look back at what made 2025 so special.

A Season of Openings

Moena Cafe

Moena Café opened its first mainland location in Downtown Daybreak in 2025, introducing a new brunch destination to South Jordan and officially kicking off our growing dining scene.

We celebrated with a grand opening that honored the culture of Hawaii, complete with traditional dancers, island-inspired activities, and a warm welcome from the community. Throughout the year, Moena Café became more than a place to eat—it became a place to gather, hosting experiences like Girls’ Night Out, a Villains Dinner, and Brunch with Santa.

Hires Big H

A beloved Utah classic, Hires Big H joined Downtown Daybreak in 2025, bringing classic burgers, onion rings, and famous root beer floats served up with a nostalgic diner feel.

Their grand opening celebrated old-fashioned fun with vintage cars, sock hop dancers, and plenty of family-friendly excitement—perfectly capturing the timeless charm Hires Big H is known for.

Megaplex at Downtown Daybreak

In 2025, Megaplex opened its first cinema entertainment center at Downtown Daybreak. This location combines movies, bowling, scratch-made dining, and games, creating an all-in-one entertainment destination for families, friends, date nights, and more.

The opening was celebrated with a free weekend, inviting guests to experience everything the Megaplex at Downtown Daybreak had to offer.

Events all year long

In 2025, Downtown Daybreak hosted more than 200 events, creating opportunities to gather week after week. From free concerts and fitness classes to yoga, petting zoos, seasonal celebrations, and pre-game parties, there was always something happening.

One of the most memorable moments? Welcoming two camels to Downtown Daybreak thanks to animal expert Corbin Maxey—just one example of the unique, unexpected experiences that made this year so special.

the ballpark at america first square

2025 marked the opening of The Ballpark at America First Square, welcoming the Salt Lake Bees to their new home for their inaugural season in Downtown Daybreak.

Designed to go beyond baseball, The Ballpark delivers a true big-league experience—featuring field-level suites that put fans right behind home plate, plus unique amenities like an on-site mini golf course.

Beyond baseball, The Ballpark hosted community favorites like Movie Nights featuring Moana and Coco. It also transformed into a winter wonderland with Holiday Lights, running from November 14 through January 3. Guests enjoyed festive music, interactive displays, themed zones like Candy Cane Lane, dazzling light shows, and a stunning 60-foot Christmas tree that quickly became a holiday favorite.

winter village

Winter Village launched as a brand-new seasonal tradition in Downtown Daybreak, creating cozy winter memories for all ages. Ice skating, Holiday Lights, themed skate nights, and the Light the World Giving Machines came together to make Downtown Daybreak a must-visit winter destination.

The grand opening celebration kicked off the holiday season with festive magic, featuring professional ice-skating performances, Hires hot cocoa, live holiday music, ice sculptures, and open skating. Fan-favorite moments throughout the season included Santa Skate, where guests took to the ice and met Santa and Mrs. Claus for photos, as well as Frozen Skate, with special character appearances that made the night extra magical.
